Smuggling Film
The activity begins at the Trefhuus, where, over a cup of coffee, you’ll first watch a special smuggling film — a 15-minute movie about the smuggling village of Overdinkel.
Route
The Smuggling Tour takes participants along the smuggling history of the Twente border region. The route runs close to the border; for example, on the Dubbeleweg, houses on one side of the street are in the Netherlands, while those on the other side are in Germany. Along the way, the vehicle makes regular stops at historic sites, where the guide shares stories and anecdotes.
The route also passes through the beautiful Gerardus Majella Park, along the Dinkel River, through the Zandbergen Nature Reserve, and past the Dubbeleweg.
Costs
- Adults: €23.00
- Children up to 12 years: €11.50 per person(Includes 2 cups of coffee or tea with a treat along the way) The electric cart has 13 seats, or 11 seats plus space for one wheelchair.
Booking participants must reserve by Friday at 4:00 PM at the latest
From April through October, tours run every Saturday. Groups can also book the cart on other days for family outings, neighborhood events, etc., by arrangement.
