  • Losser

An early bird walk in Losser through the Zandbergen & Oelemars area. The starting point is the farm shop Erve Iemhorst in Losser. The walk is led by guides from the Losser birdwatching group.

Also curious about what kind of bird is flying there? Or do you want to know why some birds have such long beaks?

Under the guidance of the birdwatching group’s guides, we set out in the early morning through this area, which is known for the many bird species that can be found there.

Along the way, the guides will share their knowledge and help identify different species, both by sight and by sound.

Special natural area One of the most remarkable natural areas in the municipality of Losser is the Oelemars. This unique area, located right near the German border, was created through sand extraction and has developed into a valuable nature reserve. Due to the combination of water, open spaces, and tranquility, it is an important habitat for birds.

Nearly two hundred different bird species have been observed in the Oelemars over the years. From the birdwatching hut and observation tower, you have a beautiful view over the area and can observe birds up close. The Oelemars is therefore not only a beautiful piece of nature but also an area of great value for flora and fauna.

At the end of the route, coffee with three extra-large chocolates will be served.
