The Wevershuisje (Weaver's cottage) is a small museum which specialises in exhibitions relating to traditional crafts such as weaving and lace making.
The Wevershuisje (Weaver's cottage) is a small museum which specialises in exhibitions relating to traditional crafts such as weaving and lace making. Originally, the building was a small timber-framed farmhouse, built in the 17th Century. This distinctive style of building used to be common in Almelo. The lane running behind the Wevershuisje was actually a canal until around 1900.
