Synagogue of Enschede
The most beautiful synagogue of Western-Europe; the monument looks extraordinary from the outside but it’s true beauty is found inside.
Stained glass windows, mosaics, thora scrolls. The synagogue of Enschede has it all. The architect that designed the structure, Karel de Bazel, did so because the old synagogue located in the city centre had become to small. It was built between 1927 and 1928 and commissioned by the Nederlands-Israëlische Congregation of Enschede.
