Dorpsbleek

One of the few places in Twente with an authentic village bleaching green (dorpsbleek). Washwomen would lay the white laundry out on the grass, where sunlight naturally bleached the fabric. The site also features a small bleaching supervisor’s house (bleekwachtershuisje), where the bleaching supervisor used to live and oversee the process.
